This has been some time in coming, and I am loathe to ignore the beauty of this topic simply to show a face of censure when in truth as artist myself I am enthralled by the works and I seek to put myself in the mind of the Artist... I give you Images from Andres Serrano's A History of Sex, 1996
My favourite piece of the ones i have presented is "Protesis" and I love the exploration of Masculinity vs femininity and the concept of empowerment...and a certain cheeky undermining of their legitimacy with the object needed to achieve this, but then i could be very chauvinistic minded because of the YEAR the exhibit was first mounted...lol
